Applying eyelash extensions is very convenient, and it can make you look so good even without makeup. However, the most agonizing part is that every lash that falls out feels like losing money. But if you take good care of them, you can actually slow down the shedding rate and maintain the shape and integrity, allowing the eyelash extension look to last longer.
Today, let's review how to properly care for your eyelash extensions ❤️
(Our lash technician always provides aftercare guidance after every service.)
📍 For the first 4-6 hours after getting lash extensions, avoid getting them wet and don't immediately go for a facial or workout followed by a steam room.
📍 Use a makeup remover water instead of oil-based makeup removers. The oil can interfere with the lash adhesive, making the extensions less sticky. When removing makeup, use a tightly-packed cotton swab to gently clean the lash line area.
📍 Keeping them dry is the key. After washing your face, conscientious people can use a cotton swab to absorb excess moisture from the base of the lashes. Or you can fold a tissue in half and place it above and below the lashes to soak up extra water, keeping the adhesive dry and preventing premature shedding.
📍 Blot away excess oil. After your morning and night skincare routine, gently press a tissue against the lower lash line area to absorb any excess oils, so the nourishing products don't compromise the lash extensions.
📍 Brush your lashes. When you wake up or after washing your face, if the lashes are messy, you can use a lash brush to gently sweep them into place. Well-groomed lashes are less likely to tangle and fall out. You can also brush through them after applying makeup to remove any eyeshadow or powder that may have accumulated.
📍 Getting eyelash extensions does not actually make your natural lashes thinner over time. We all have a natural lash growth cycle. Maintaining a balanced diet, avoiding excessive eye rubbing, and using lash serums or conditioners can help keep your lashes healthy and continuously growing back after shedding.
